The Pathway to Higher Studies:
Aiming to meet the diverse academic needs of the diverse student body up to the pre-degree level, the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim, offers secondary and senior secondary education as well as skill and vocational training. In accordance with the Sikkim Act 2020, which was passed on September 21, 2020, the Sikkim Legislative Assembly passed Act No. 14 of 2020, creating the BOSSE, or Sikkim Open Schooling Education Board, to promote and spread open schooling education at the state and national levels.
The Association of Indian Universities, or AIU, has recognized BOSSE equivalency for the purposes of employment and higher education. This suggests that all universities, colleges, and higher education institutions both domestically and overseas are open to BOSSE graduates.
Additionally, BOSSE has been approved as an open schooling board by the Ministry of Education, Government of India's NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). As a result, the BOSSE certificates are accepted on an equal basis with those of other Boards of School Education, both at the federal and state levels.
The Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE) seeks to improve and enhance open schooling instruction while establishing avenues for postsecondary education throughout the country. The goal of BOSSE is to create equity and justice in society by universalizing education through a flexible educational system that blends academic and practical programs.
Through open and distant learning, interested students can select from the following courses and programs offered by the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE).
